Northwest Territory Collects 3-2 Win
|
The Northwest Territory Beavers earned a close win over the Crowley Cajuns, thanks in part to Donald Mickey. The Northwest Territory right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the PA- with a 2.34 ERA, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Northwest Territory reliever Aatos Niemikorpi picked up the win to move to 4-5. Oscar Cox suffered the loss. The third-place Beavers now have a record of 46-35.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Dennis Gillespie had a game-changing hit. The Beavers first baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Wayne Meyrick, making the score 3-2, Northwest Territory.
"I was a little disappointed," said Crowley manager Bill Wallace. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
