|
Tulsa pitcher Boudewijn Vervoort had a large part in his team subduing the Hicksville Hounds, 7-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The winner was Vervoort. He threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Júlio Castillo. Dudley Farrell, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
An inflection point occurred with no one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Otters pinch hitter Elton Lafayette hit a fastball from Júlio Castillo for a 2-run single. Just like that, Tulsa was up, 2-1.
