The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bryan Miller, who muffled the Shady Side offense en route to a tight, 2-0 Liberty U-21 win at Terriers Ballpark. Miller, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. The loss puts Shady Side at 2-1.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Javier Rivera? The Philadelphia first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Liberty U-21 on top, 2-0. For the game, Rivera had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
