Smith Leads Toros to 9-5 Win Over Uruguayans
The Tijuana Toros beat the Germantown Uruguayans, 9-5, at Ballpark of Albuquerque. Kurt Smith starred for Tijuana. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tijuana, now 33-50, holds down 8th place in the Premier Low A.

With Tijuana leading 5-1 in the top of the fourth, Smith batted against Germantown pitcher Sebastiano Pollaiuolo. Smith hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Toros on top, 9-1.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Toros manager Milton Mathews.
