Uruguayans Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Germantown Uruguayans got the win.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Germantown Uruguayans and the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 19-year old right-handed pitcher Miguel Arroyo was the difference-maker. The Germantown right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Adam White collected save number 7.
Reginald Libbinga came through with a big-time hit for Germantown. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Plattsburgh manager Mike Carlisle.
The 8th-place Uruguayans hiked their record to 40-44.
