Warheads Rebuff Shockers, 3-2

The Amarillo Warheads racked up a win at Ballpark of Henderson, bumping off the Surprise Shockers, 3-2. Pepe García, who started for Amarillo, pitched effectively for his team. José Valéncia picked up the save, his 2nd. Amarillo, now 3-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
The Warheads got a big at-bat from center fielder Neil Rogers. For the game, Rogers went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Amarillo a 2-0 lead.
"The other side played a good game," said Surprise manager José Montalópez. "You tip your cap to them."
