Nichols Leads Angel Kitties to 3-2 Win Over Octopi
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Bethlehem Angel Kitties and Ogallala Octopi.
In a close game at Nebraska Aquarium, the Bethlehem Angel Kitties edged the Ogallala Octopi, 3-2. Bethlehem center fielder Patrick Nichols stood apart with his performance. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Bethlehem reliever Luis Muñóz was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Brenden Pilgrim.
Had Nichols not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Nichols hit a 2-run home run. The Angel Kitties took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Nichols told the Bethlehem News. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
Bethlehem is now 37-49.
