Germantown catcher Ty Riese had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Riese went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, even as Redwood beat the Uruguayans, 5-3. Edgar Liriano earned the win to go to 8-5. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Redwood is now 41-46, while Germantown is 41-46.

The Rhinos got an important contribution from center fielder José Meléndez, who in the bottom of the sixth punched a 2-1 sinker to right for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Rhinos ahead, 5-3.
