The Germantown Uruguayans could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Valentín Buitrugo into a win. Instead, the Hicksville Hounds prevailed, 6-2. Buitrugo threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Hicksville pitcher Todd Rivera earned the win, hiking his record to 8-7. Valentín Buitrugo suffered the loss. Gabriel Delgado finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bill Haggans? The 20-year old right fielder Haggans stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put Hicksville up, 6-2. For the game, he was 2 for 2, including 1 double and 1 single.

"I really like what we did out there today," Haggans said after the game.
