Zoomies Suffer One-Run Loss at Ellesmere Island
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople and Shady Side Zoomies.
Ellesmere Island Snowpeople starter Balduíno Leomil turned in an exceptional performance against the Shady Side Zoomies at The Igloo, resulting in a Ellesmere Island win, 3-2. In 5 innings, Leomil surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs.
The Snowpeople got a big at-bat from first baseman Frank Douglas. For the game, Douglas went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Ellesmere Island a 2-0 lead.
Leomil told a Ellesmere Island Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The loss drops the Zoomies to 3-1.
