Gagg Lifts Hounds to 6-3 Triumph
|
Hicksville third baseman Steven Gagg was instrumental in helping the Hounds triumph, 6-3, over the Crowley Cajuns. Gagg went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Hicksville reliever Dean Medley picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Robbie Kuhn took the loss. Ben Wells earned save number 6 this season.
Bill Haggans came through with a big-time hit for Hicksville. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Haggans said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
Hicksville has won 3 straight, while Crowley has lost 4 in a row.
