Shockers Deal Otters 8-6 Loss
|
The 8-6 Surprise win over Tulsa was due largely to Ryan Plaistowe. The Shockers center fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Ryunosuke Nagata closed it out for Surprise, earning his 4th save. The 7th-place Shockers now have a record of 37-52.
Nathaniel Heath had a big 3-run home run for the Shockers in the top of the first inning. With Surprise leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Neil Snow, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2059 draft, and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Shockers ahead, 5-0.
"It was a solid team effort," said Plaistowe after the game.
