Puffer Fish Win, Moreno hits 3 home runs
|
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish polished off the Shady Side Zoomies by the score of 6-3. The largest share of the credit belonged to center fielder Mauro Moreno. Moreno belted 3 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored three times for the Puffer Fish. Plattsburgh starter Scott Gibbons was credited with the win after throwing 118 pitches over 8.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. With the win, Plattsburgh raised its record to 50-40.
Plattsburgh took a 4-1 lead on Moreno's 27th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Xaavier Clemons in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Plattsburgh to the win.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Moreno told the Plattsburgh Daily News.
