Northwest Territory third baseman Luis Jiménez had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Jiménez went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, even as Redwood beat the Beavers, 12-9. The winning pitcher was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Michael Swanson. He tossed 90 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 11 hits. Picking up the save was Bob Morton, his 19th.

Redwood used the bat of Kevin Reed to get the win. The third baseman spanked a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 8-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.

"We got the victory," said Reed. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

Redwood now owns a record of 42-48.
