Shockers Come Up Short at Amarillo, 3-2
The Amarillo Warheads weathered a fine game by Surprise catcher Nathaniel Heath to upend the Shockers, 3-2, at Ballpark of Henderson. Heath went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Juan Fernández, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The win puts Amarillo at 4-1.

Amarillo took the lead, 3-1, on José Juárez's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Surprise pitcher Adrian Simionescu in the bottom of the seventh.

Juárez called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
