Otters Deal Uruguayans 6-2 Defeat
|
The Tulsa Otters defeated the Germantown Uruguayans, 6-2, at Ballpark of Albuquerque. Tulsa was led by 21-year old third baseman Tomás Hernández, who went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. John Schneider got credit for the win, improving to 7-6. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings. Bastien Chaumont finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
With Tulsa leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Hernández hit a slider from Alard Elst for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Otters ahead, 6-1.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Tulsa skipper Bob Grzelak.
Tulsa is now 52-39, while Germantown is 34-57.
