Cajuns Make It 4 Straight with 5-2 Win
|
The Crowley Cajuns topped the Hudsonville Flanderses, 5-2, with left fielder Al Gross playing a big role. Gross was 3 for 5 with 3 singles for the Cajuns in the win. Robbie Kuhn, 5-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. Jason Carroll recorded the save for Crowley, his 17th of the season.
Rich Strong had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the Crowley pinch hitter hit a 2-run single. That put the Cajuns in front, 4-2.
Said losing manager Jacob Messer: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
Crowley has rattled off 4 straight wins.
