Cajuns Edge Watford City in Pitching Duel
|
Titans Ballpark was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
In a well-pitched game between the Crowley Cajuns and the Watford City Trash Pandas, pitcher Bruce Willing was superb. The Crowley right-hander helped his team win, 1-0. Willing picked up the win for Crowley, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 6-2. Dae-hwan Park recorded his 16th save for Crowley.
The Cajuns got an important contribution from designated hitter Francisco Ferrer, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-1 curveball into right for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cajuns ahead, 1-0.
Willing said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
Crowley has now won 4 straight.
