|
The Redwood Rhinos defeated the Hicksville Hounds by the score of 5-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Ángel Árias. Árias went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Rhinos on the day. Redwood is now 49-44.
Redwood used a well-timed hit by Santiago Vargas to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I loved our energy," said Redwood manager Robby Long. "I loved the way we played."
