The Fort Knox Centennial defeated the Hicksville Hounds, 3-2, in USPL Low A action at Hound Pound. Fort Knox pitcher George Young had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Young, now 11-3. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Jody Ross finished the game for Fort Knox and earned his 14th save.
Fort Knox used the hitting of Luis Villarreal to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Centennial on top, 3-1. For the game, Villarreal had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We did enough to win," said Young.
Fort Knox bumps their record to 56-38 with the win.
