Octopi Earn Late 3-2 Win
|
The Hicksville Hounds could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Alfonso López into a win. Instead, the Ogallala Octopi prevailed, 3-2. López came in in relief and pitched to 23 batters. The Octopi go to 34-60 with the win.
George Tennyson drove in one run for Ogallala. The 19-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Finlay Midwinter. It was his 12th RBI of the season.
After the game, Ogallala manager Félix Cruz applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
