It wasn't easy but the Germantown Uruguayans made it look that way.

Starter Rickey Montgomery shut out the Redwood Rhinos despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Germantown Uruguayans cruised to victory, 1-0. Montgomery allowed only 1 hit and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

In 13 starts this year, Montgomery has recorded a 5-4 record and a 2.24 ERA.
