Puffer Fish Rally to Win
|
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish topped the Redwood Rhinos, 3-2, in 10 innings at The Zoo. The game was highlighted by the performance of Plattsburgh pitcher Dale Petherbridge. Petherbridge got the win, improving to 9-7. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Plattsburgh is now 52-43.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Travis Williams came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Redwood pitcher Bob Morton, he hit a 2-0 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Plattsburgh on top, 3-2.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Redwood manager Joe Goff.
