The Crowley Cajuns had to overcome a big game from Athletic Club KC third baseman Ni Xú to leave Titans Ballpark with a victory. And they did, winning 8-4. Xú was 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ted Bottone picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 8-6. Francisco Álvarez finished the game for Crowley and earned his 13th save.
Crowley took a 8-3 lead on Dale Bland's 8th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Bland hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Athletic Club KC pitcher Howard Bass shaking his head.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Neal Davis said.
The Cajuns go to 64-32, putting them first in the Premier Low A.
