Fort Knox beat Hicksville at Hound Pound, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder José Rangel. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The save went to Roger Haines, his 1st this season. The 5th-place Centennial improved to 52-44.

Rangel had a timely hit for Fort Knox in the top of the eighth. With Fort Knox trailing 4-2, he turned a 2-2 changeup into a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Fort Knox.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Rangel said.
