Hudsonville right-hander Dave McKinney helped his team edge Surprise by the score of 2-1. McKinney kept the opposing lineup in check. Don Wichman earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game. The loss puts Surprise at 5-3.
Seung-jae Yi's at-bat in the top of the seventh inning was a big one for Hudsonville. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 3rd and Hudsonville trailing 1-0, the pinch hitter reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Hudsonville manager Cristián Lima said.
