Rodríguez in Fine Form in 3-0 Win
|
The umbrellas came out during the Philadelphia-Surprise contest at Shockers Field.
The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 got great pitching from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Víctor Rodríguez, allowing them to bump off the Surprise Shockers, 3-0. Philadelphia sits at 6-3 in the early going.
Rodríguez earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Philadelphia. The native of San Ignacio, Costa Rica, allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Surprise hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.
"I'm happy we won," said Rodríguez. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
