Ogallala Upended, 3-2, by Surprise
|
Starting pitcher Fred Ducklow gave the Surprise Shockers a rock-solid effort. The Fort McMurray, Canada native helped his team defeat the Ogallala Octopi, 3-2, at Shockers Field. Bobby Griffin earned the save, his 2nd, for the Shockers. Surprise goes to 5-4.
Dave Ford found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ogallala hurler Mark Conner, the 19-year-old second baseman hit a sacrifice fly. His 3rd RBI of the season put the Shockers on top, 3-2.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Ducklow. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
