Warheads Sneak Past Trash Pandas, 3-2
|
Watford City wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Larry Hoskins, falling to the Amarillo Warheads, 3-2. Hoskins threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Amarillo sits at 5-4.
The Warheads beat the Trash Pandas in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Micah Goater produced in the top of the ninth. Batting against Francisco Sánchez, Goater gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Watford City manager Dong-hwan Namgung.
