Shockers Suffer 3-1 Road Loss
|
The Tulsa Otters picked up a win at Ballpark of Hughesville, knocking off the Surprise Shockers, 3-1. Starting pitcher Xing-fu Weng played a key role in the triumph. Weng, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Dan Mullally got credit for the save for Tulsa. It was his 2nd of the year.
The Otters had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 3-1, Tulsa, with one out. Surprise, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Rafael Cruz dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch cutter, he hit into a double play.
The win puts Tulsa at 6-4.
