Hicksville Hounds starter Alex Burgess found his groove in his team's 8-3 win over the Watford City Trash Pandas. The winner was Burgess. He threw 5.2 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was John Joseph. Hicksville is off to a hot start at 7-3.

Benton Wallace had a big 3-run home run for the Hounds in the top of the sixth inning. With Hicksville leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Kevin Thompson and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hounds ahead, 5-0.

"Alex throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Hicksville manager Art Manning.
