|
Starting pitcher Kurt Morse took care of business, helping the Bompton Baby Lakers stifle the Philadelphia Liberty U-21, 4-1. Morse, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The win lifts Bompton to a record of 6-5.
Bompton won the game in part because of Greg Jones. The third baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Baby Lakers ahead, 4-1. For the game, Jones had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
