Puffer Fish Drop 3-1 Decision
|
Otojiro Kozawa imposed his will on the Puffer Fish from the get-go. Relying mainly on his cutter, the right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 Amarillo triumph. Kozawa, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Gerald Delgado notched his 2nd save of the season.
Steve Chávez hit a run-scoring double off Ben Lane in the bottom of the third, which put the Warheads in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Chávez had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"I thought we competed really well," said Warheads manager José López. "I thought the energy was really good."
The Puffer Fish fall to 5-7 and continue to sputter in the early going.
