The Maine Sea Dogs got a sterling performance from pitcher Patrick Cook, but the Amarillo Warheads still prevailed, 4-2. Cook threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The winner in relief was Ángel Quintana. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. José Valéncia earned the save for Amarillo, his 5th.
Amarillo took a 3-2 lead on António Encarnación's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Encarnación hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Maine pitcher Haico Ulderink visibly frustrated.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Encarnación told the Amarillo Chronicle.
The Sea Dogs drop to 6-6 and continue their mediocre start to the 2063 season.
