Loss Tarnishes Fine Performance by Padilla
The Ladue Rams weathered an outstanding game by Tijuana right fielder Jorge Padilla to topple the Toros, 18-8. Padilla was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Zhi Ling, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held the Toros to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The win puts Ladue at 5-7.

Ladue used the hitting of Jaime Montaño to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rams on top, 9-2. For the game, Montaño had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.

"We got the victory," said Montaño. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
