Baby Lakers Lose to Liberty U-21 in Walk-Off
|
The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 dealt the Bompton Baby Lakers a 6-3 loss at Ballpark of Liberty. Jim Klein, who is tied for 3rd in the SA- with a .432 batting average, was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Philadelphia reliever Martín Machado snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Pancho Lizalda shouldered the loss. The Liberty U-21, now 9-3, have been on fire in the early going.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Klein hit a fastball from Pancho Lizalda for a 3-run home run. The Liberty U-21, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This game was intense," Klein said, postgame.
