|
Philadelphia beat Maine in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 wiggled past the Maine Sea Dogs, 4-3, at Sea Dogs Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia pitcher Bryan Miller. Philadelphia reliever Robbie de Groot picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jeff Robinson took the loss. Georges Boulet picked up his 1st save of the season.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Dan Cook to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Liberty U-21 on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Miller said.
Maine falls to 4-9.
