Liberty U-21 Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 took on the Ogallala Octopi at Nebraska Aquarium.
Philadelphia left fielder Glenn Bowen had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Ogallala Octopi, 8-3. Nick Jacobs picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 3-0.
With Philadelphia leading 4-3 in the top of the ninth, Bowen batted against Ogallala pitcher Mark Conner. Bowen hit a curveball to right for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Liberty U-21 on top, 8-3.
Bowen said his team "played with determination."
The Liberty U-21, now 10-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.
