Juan Velásquez, who is tied for 2nd in the SA- in strikeouts with 21, pitched well, but the Beaumont Crossbeaus still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Maine Sea Dogs at Sea Dogs Park. Beaumont drops to 6-9.

Mike Adams had a big hit for Maine in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Maine leading 2-0, Adams hit a run-scoring double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Sea Dogs up, 3-0.

"We were in it," said Beaumont manager Dan Fletcher. "We just didn't score enough runs."
