In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

Surprise beat Tijuana on the strength of starting pitcher Phil Monroe's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 12-3. The Shockers raised their record to 7-9.

Surprise used a clutch at-bat from Florante Dojterero to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Shockers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Dojterero.
