The Surprise Shockers converted a terrific effort from starter Jimmy Cooper into a win over the Watford City Trash Pandas at Trash Panda Field. The Shockers won the game by a final score of 5-1. The winner was Cooper. He threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Iván Trevizo. The win has Surprise at 6-10.

Ryan Plaistowe had a big 2-run home run for the Shockers in the top of the first inning. With Surprise leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Iván Trevizo and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Shockers on top, 3-0.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Plaistowe told a Surprise News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
