Shady Side Gets 6-2 Win
Shady Side defeated Beaumont, 6-2, in large part due to 21-year old second baseman Mark Castillo. Castillo drove in 3 runs. The second baseman had 1 double and 1 home run for the Zoomies. Jo Miyashita notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Mike Jolly nailed down the save.

With Shady Side leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Castillo came up to bat against Beaumont pitcher José Morales. Castillo hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Zoomies on top, 4-0.

Shady Side manager Ralph Gilbert called it "a good, solid win."

Now 13-4, the 2059 Zoomies have been phenomenal so far.
