Puffer Fish Topple Sea Dogs, 7-5, as Román Shines
|
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish trumped the Maine Sea Dogs, 7-5, at Plattsburgh Park. Plattsburgh third baseman Tomás Román was terrific. He was 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Sam Frey got credit for the save for Plattsburgh. It was his 1st of the year. Plattsburgh sits at 10-8 in the early going.
Román had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Puffer Fish went on to win.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Plattsburgh manager Mike Carlisle.
