The Baltimore Bullets took Mississippi pitcher Alex Thompson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Baltimore Grounds. The final score had Baltimore getting past the Mockingbirds, 4-3. Thompson went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 9. Baltimore reliever Louis Bainbridge was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Alastair Lewis took the loss. Baltimore now sits at 17-17, while Mississippi falls to 15-19.
Yerson Acevedo, who is tied for 8th in the SL in RBI with 23, contributed to the Baltimore win with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Mississippi manager Beau Carsten. "But we decided not to take it."
