Octopi Stumble Versus Beavers, Lose, 3-1
|
Northwest Territory and Ogallala played a hard-fought contest.
The Northwest Territory Beavers, behind a great outing from Jesús López, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, defeated the Ogallala Octopi, 3-1, at Nebraska Aquarium. The winning pitcher was López, now 2-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. Arturo Santos picked up the save for Northwest Territory, his 3rd of the year.
Northwest Territory used the hitting of Ángel Martínez to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Beavers on top, 3-1. For the game, Martínez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Martínez.
Northwest Territory is now 12-8.
