Beavers Suffer 3-2 Setback
|
The Flint Crush got a stellar performance from pitcher Albert Martínez, who handcuffed the Northwest Territory offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Flint Park. The winning pitcher was Martínez, now 1-3. He tossed 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Flint's record now stands at 10-10, placing them 7th in the Silver Low A.
Bill Clapsaddle made an early impact for Flint when he stroked his 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came with two out in the bottom of the third, put the Crush on top, 2-0.
Northwest Territory manager Robert Acker said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
