Burgess Lays Hammer Down in 3-1 Win
|
The Hicksville Hounds used a great performance from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Burgess to beat the Surprise Shockers, 3-1, at Hound Pound. Leland Timms picked up the save for Hicksville, his 7th of the year. Hicksville now has a record of 13-7 with the win.
Burgess was in midseason form against the Shockers. He allowed no runs on 1 hit and fanned 10 in his 8-inning effort.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Hicksville manager Art Manning.
