Riding the 2-hit performance of the top prospect Lee Spencer, the Amarillo Warheads stopped the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 8-1, in 9 innings. Amarillo pitcher Otojiro Kozawa earned the win, hiking his record to 2-3. Wanko Wasko suffered the loss. The win puts Amarillo at 10-10 this season.

Spencer had a key at-bat for Amarillo in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and gave Amarillo an early 2-0 lead.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Amarillo skipper José López.
