Flint Falls Again, 5-3
|
Benefiting from Max Christie's productive game, the Shady Side Zoomies downed the Flint Crush, 5-3. Christie went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs for the Zoomies. Myung-woo Kang, the winning pitcher, is now 1-2. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 3. The slumping Crush have lost 6 straight.
Pancho Trujillo had a big 2-run double for the Zoomies in the bottom of the third inning. With Shady Side leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Al Casey and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Zoomies ahead, 3-0.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Flint manager Michael Woodard.
