Trash Pandas Lose at Home, 6-3
|
Watford City got a decent performance from pitcher Ramón Santos, but it wasn't enough to beat the Ogallala Octopi. Ogallala won the Trash Panda Field contest, 6-3. Santos threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Alexander Shuker got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. Clay May earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.
In the top of the sixth, Luis Heredia delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Ogallala right fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Octopi in front, 6-3.
Said Ogallala manager Dewitt Hopper: "Our approach was outstanding all night long."
The 9th-place Octopi are now 9-14, the Trash Pandas 10-13.
