Crush Suffer 4-2 Loss to Zoomies

The Shady Side Zoomies rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher Hiroya Suzuki to a win, beating the Flint Crush, 4-2, at Terriers Ballpark. Suzuki, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Today's win puts Shady Side at 10-13, while Flint falls to 9-14.
The Crush had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Zoomies going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old shortstop Max Christie came to the plate. Christie hit a run-scoring triple on a 0-2 slider from Flint hurler José Morán. It was Christie's 1st triple of the year.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Christie said.
