Zoomies Improve to 17-6 with 5-3 Win
|
Irwin Glidden impressed in the 5-3 Shady Side win over Bethlehem. Glidden, who leads the SA- in RBI with 16, went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Shady Side reliever Domingo Pérez snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mark Christian shouldered the loss. Shady Side has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
Glidden had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Mark Christian, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Zoomies a 5-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Glidden.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Shady Side manager Ralph Gilbert.
