Cecil Cornett pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Amarillo Warheads, despite Cornett's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Philadelphia Liberty U-21 at Ballpark of Liberty. Philadelphia pitcher Bryan Miller got the win. He's now 3-0. Cecil Cornett was tagged with the loss. With the win, the Liberty U-21 hiked their record to 14-9.

The Liberty U-21 got an important contribution from catcher Ross Brice, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a first pitch fastball to left-center for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Liberty U-21 ahead, 1-0.

Brice called the win "an overall solid one."
