Brown Plays Big Role in Beaumont Win
|
Runs were at a premium in the Beaumont-Ogallala matchup.
In a low-scoring contest between the Beaumont Crossbeaus and the Ogallala Octopi, Elton Brown, who is tied for 4th in the SA- in quality starts with 4, proved to be the difference. The Beaumont right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-0 Crossbeaus win. Picking up the save was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Kenny Flint.
The famously hardworking Brown handled the Octopi all day, notching 6 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 6 hits. Brown, who is tied for 6th in the SA- in strikeouts with 36, goes to 3-1 on the year with 36 strikeouts.
Beaumont manager Ángel Macías said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
The second-place Crossbeaus are 15-9.
