4-3 Win Takes Zoomies to 15-10
|
Though he had a stellar game, Dan Cook could not prevent his team, the Philadelphia Liberty U-21, from losing, 4-3, to the Shady Side Zoomies. Cook went 3-3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Jung-keun Kim got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Liberty U-21 to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The win puts Shady Side at 15-10 this season.
The Zoomies got a big at-bat from shortstop Max Christie. For the game, Christie was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Shady Side a 2-1 lead.
After the game, Shady Side manager Ralph Gilbert applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
